In 1996, the Board of The Foundation
took the decision to complement its activities with fellowship programmes.
Since 1997, the Serono Foundation has
granted two to three fellowships every year to promising young scientists.
The fellowships' laureates receive USD 45'000 every year for two years
to fund research for a full-time
postdoctoral training programme.
The Serono Foundation for the Advancement of Medical
Science Fellowships in Biomedicine
Fellowships
will be awarded by the Serono Foundation for postdoctoral training pertaining
to the research area of reproductive endocrinology. The 2005 Fellowship
will be awarded on or before 15 July 2005.
Fellowship Terms
Full-time postdoctoral training
2 years of support USD 45'000 annual grant towards salary and to defray
personal expenses for postdoctoral training.
Eligibility
- Applicants must have completed a PhD and/or
MD or equivalent academic degree, preferably not more than 3 years
prior to the start date of the fellowship.
- Candidates applying for a postdoctoral
fellowship should be changing laboratory.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English
(verbal and written).
